Dr. Decheng Chen demonstrating “Motion Acupuncture” in Wenzhou, China: immediate efficacy on site
On July 18, 2016, Dr. Decheng Chen visited the Department of Rehabilitation in the Second Affiliated Hospital of Wenzhou Medical University, and gave an academic talk to the doctors and students of the Departments of Rehabilitation and Orthopedics, entitled “Clinical application of Motion Acupuncture”. After the talk, Dr. Chen treated two patients. One of the patients suffered from chronic lower back pain with repeated recurrence, who had been treated before with acupuncture from her back, which produced some efficacy, but failed to achieve complete remission. After examination by Dr. Chen, she was diagnosed with injury of psoas (a pair of large muscles that run from the lumbar spine through the groin on either side and, with the iliacus, flex the hip). Motion Acupuncture was performed on her by inserting needles from the abdomen and the front of thigh, followed by doctor-supervised movements of body parts. Her pain was immediately gone, and the range of motion of her waist was greatly improved (see the picture). The doctors on site witnessed the efficacy with enthusiastic applause.
